Santa Cruz is one of the many beautiful beachfront towns along
the winding stretch of highway 1 south of San Francisco.
It's known for its laid back vibes, serious surf culture and it's beachfront amusement park (the carousel was featured in the 80's classic 'The Lost Boys').
We stay at Dream Inn, which overlooks the beach below. Walk from the hotel out on the old pier to watch the Sea Lions snooze in the sun at low tide, or to the shore to watch fledgeling surfers catch a wave.

Great tasting room and restaurant from nearby Bonny Doon Vineyard. It's also fun to take a day trip up in to the redwoods and vineyards of nearby Bonny Dune.
